To me, design is more than just a visual; it’s an experience, a means of communication that inflicts deep feeling and pleasure.
I'm interested in creating work that's dynamic and made for user-centered experiences. I describe myself as a digital artist in
design, striving to push myself to experiment with a wide range of styles, techniques, and topics. I have a deep wonder for how
design, from simple to complex, can evoke emotion and make an impact.
My process is messy, playful, and full of surprises. I begin with too many sketches, hate my own early drafts, and then fall in
love with the spontaneous idea that wasn’t any part of the plan. I draw my inspiration from modernist principles but am addicted
to breaking its rules—because design should be both disciplined and rebellious. When I’m not pushing pixels, though, I’m searching
for design books, snapping photos of interesting shop logos, or persuading my friends that, yes, we should scrutinize the menu font
at this restaurant. A lot of the inspirations that come to me result from things I love doing in life, which include playing video
games, reading, or listening to music.
I took this class hoping to develop more knowledge of interactive design. I’m excited to create work that’s dynamic and made for
user-centered experiences. My current goal is to pursue a career in UX/UI Design. So far most of my work has been mainly static,
and I’m determined to expand my reach. I was not confident in my coding skills, so taking this class really helped me become more
familiar and comfortable with it in relation to design. Aspects like html, css, and javascript were all new to me and were
intimidating at first. But through doing the projects, I learned that it wasn’t so bad after all. I think the hardest part for me
was generating a random design purely through code. Before, I was used to implementing my own design choices. This project limited
my ability to influence the design. The result was something I would have never designed on my own in the first place, but I ended up
liking it.
